Gliffy

Gliffy is a cloud-based commercial diagramming application based on Flash. It is a paid service but gives users the possibility to create a free account with a limited set of features. The Premium service doesn't have a fixed cost but a price per user, therefore becoming an interesting alternative for small and medium enterprises.Gliffy can be used to create any kind of diagram, including flow charts, data flow diagrams, organizational charts or even floor plans. To create the diagrams, Gliffy provides an extensive shape library, which can be complemented by the user by importing its own images.

Creately

Creately is a web-based diagramming and design application. It allows users to create mind maps, flowcharts, diagrams, UML designs and several other diagram types. It's cloud-based but has recently made available a desktop application for off-line use.Creately is an incredibly feature-rich solution and is quite easy to use when compared to traditional design and graphics software, like Microsoft Visio. It provides pretty much all the settings and tools you would expect from such a program, plus it allows users to collaborate and comment in real-time. The collaboration options also include the possibility of creating private workspaces, where you can choose to share your work to your collaborators only when you want to.

Bubbl.us

Bubbl.us is a commercial cloud-based mind mapping application based on Flash. It has two paid subscription services, Basic and Premium, as well as free accounts, limited to 3 saved maps. Though not a feature-rich application, it impresses by its simplicity and the freedom provided by its layout. In fact, that is probably the best feature in Bubbl.us: there is absolutely no limit to what you can do once you start creating the bubbles. You can, for example, move them freely around the screen, change their parent bubble or connect bubbles from any level. The only limit is the size of the screen.

Debategraph

Debategraph is a web-based collaborative tool. Its purpose is to create visualizations or arguments and ideas in a collaborative manner, with a focus on public policy issues. It was formed with the goal to increase transparency and the quality of the debate in complex public issues. Debategraph allows any registered user (accounts are free) to create or edit maps for public discussion. These maps are a mix between mind maps and a wiki-style website, since anyone can collaborate to expand and improve any existing map. The intention is to get people to contribute to a discussion with their own knowledge, linking expertises from various people, and thus allowing people to reach better conclusions or reach a consensus in a conflict situation.

ImaginationCubed

Imagination Cubed is a cloud-based collaborative drawing tool developed by General Electric. It's a free and very simple to use application that can be used to send a simple sketch or visual information. Imagination Cubed is a truly simple application stripped of complicated options to allow users to do one single thing: draw. The greatest feature it has is the possibility to invite a friend to draw with you.

Mind42

Mind42 is a free web-based mind mapping application. It allows users to collaboratively create mind maps to organize ideas and projects. Unlike many other similar on-line applications, Mind42 is free and accessible by simply creating an account. Even though it's free, Mind 42 is still a powerful mind map creator; though not as feature-rich as paid competitors, such as Creately, it still gives the users the basic tools expected to build mind maps and has a few neat tricks.

Cacoo

Cacoo is a web-based real-time collaborative tool that allows users to create different types of diagrams, including mind maps, flowcharts or site maps. Since it's a web app, it doesn't require any installation; to start using it, the only thing you need is an account. The basic features are available for free, but to use the application to the fullest you must have a “Plus” (paid) account. The main selling point of Cacoo against competitors is the fact that it's totally web-based, which gives the user the possibility to access projects from any computer with an internet connection.
